Electric Entertainment (“Electric”), US-based producer and distributor, has launched its first linear channel ElectricNOW using Veset Nimbus, the cloud-based linear channel management platform. ElectricNOW is a linear ad-supported OTT channel that will features Electric’s top series (including “The Outpost”, “Leverage”, “The Librarians”) as well as films from Electric’s catalogues and some third-party content. ElectricNOW service will run on digital platforms, including Sinclair Broadcast Group’s Stirr, XUMO and Distro TV.
Led by legendary Hollywood director Dean Devlin, Electric Entertainment was looking to add linear TV channel to its VOD offering. As a primarily premium content production focused organisation Electric Entertainment was looking for a professional channel origination and management platform which could deliver operational flexibility and high quality service, combined with intuitive easy to use design enabling self-service. At the same time it wanted to avoid long term commitments, investment in technology and engineering personnel historically required by a 24/7 linear channel operations. Having identified a need for a true SaaS platform, Electric Entertainment was advised to use Veset Nimbus by industry specialists for ElectricNOW launch. Having worked closely with Veset’s team on the channel’s POC and set up on AWS, Electric Entertainments’ team successfully launched the channel on DistroTV and looking to launch on a number of other OTT platforms.
Dean Devlin, Electric Entertainment CEO, said:
“Launching ElectricNOW, our first linear channel, and entering 24/7 television space is a big milestone for our company. We are excited to be able to provide our audiences with a new way of watching our titles in a singular channel.”
Ben Raymodjack, Electric Entertainment Vice President, Post Production, added:
“It has been a great experience working with Veset’s team on this important project and I would like to personally thank them for the support in helping us navigate OTT linear television space.”
Igor Krol, CEO of Veset, commented:
“We are so proud to help Dean and his team launch ElectricNOW. It is a strong vote of confidence and a testimony to the strength and maturity of our innovative linear channel origination platform.”
