What Veset Nimbus is

Cloud-native SaaS playout. Nimbus turns your files, live feeds and schedules into 24/7 channels in the cloud.

  • Cloud-native SaaS

Runs on AWS by default, with dedicated Hetzner support. Other public clouds on request; GCP and Azure have been tested.

  • Console, REST API and MCP

Operate channels from the browser console, the REST API that covers the full platform, or an AI agent through the public Nimbus MCP server.

  • Broadcast, FAST and OTT

Traditional 24/7 channels for satellite, cable and terrestrial delivery, and FAST and OTT channels, on one platform.

  • Several channels, one account

Channels share the content library and schedules, and the same operators run all of them without switching accounts.

  • Channels based on a main channel

A time-zone or time-delay version by transposing the main channel's playlists, or a variant with different ad breaks, compliance edits or graphics.

  • A technology partner

Veset doesn't sell ads or take a revenue share. You own the channel and its revenue.

How a channel runs on Nimbus

From the storage you already use to the platforms that carry the channel.

  1. Ingest

Files from S3‑compatible storage or SFTP, or through a MAM/CMS integration.

  2. Manage

A media library with metadata, tags and cue points, and an AWS Glacier archive with automatic restore.

  3. Schedule

Import BXF, XML, XLSX, CSV or JSON playlists, or build them in the console. An XMLTV EPG comes from the schedule.

  4. Play out

Files and live inputs on time, with HTML5 graphics, DVE, subtitles and SCTE‑35 markers.

  5. Deliver

Several outputs per playout, each with its own encoder, over SRT, UDP/RTP, HLS, RTMP or AWS MediaConnect.

All inputs

Redundancy

Four ways to keep a channel on air, from a second playout to a cloud backup for an on-prem playout.

  • 1+1 hot backup

Two synchronised playouts with the same outputs, in one AWS region or two. Your receiver or MCR chooses which feed goes on air.

  • Warm standby

A standby playout that starts automatically within a few minutes.

  • Nimbus HA

Multi-region playout for channels that need more than one region.

  • Cloud DR

A cloud backup for broadcasters whose main playout runs on-prem. An operator starts it when needed, and it's on air within minutes.

Your cloud account or Veset's

The playouts run where you choose.

  • Your own cloud account

The playouts run in your own cloud account.

  • Resources Veset provides

Cloud resources on AWS or Hetzner. Hetzner runs data centres in the EU, so processing and storage can stay in the EU, with the same features as on AWS except AWS-specific services such as MediaConnect.

  • Hybrid

Hybrid setups work, for example MAM and storage on another cloud with playout on AWS.

  • SDI on-premise

An Enterprise option places the playout in your own facility for SDI output.

Monitoring, control and security

  • Live preview and status

Live preview, playout and output status in the console, with as-run logs and uptime reports.

  • Alerts

Alerts by email and webhooks, for example to Slack. A lost live input falls back to a backup input or the emergency playlist and sends an alert.

  • Audit log

User and API actions are logged.

  • Access control

Role-based access, SSO with SAML or OIDC, and MFA.

  • Encryption

Encrypted storage and transport, for example SRT with AES.

  • Certified

ISO 27001 and ISO 27017. Veset is an AWS Partner.

Price and terms

  • FAST and DR from $499

Per channel per month, including cloud infrastructure for a standard configuration. CDN usage is billed pay-as-you-go.

  • Standard from $999

Per channel per month, excluding AWS. Your own AWS account, or Veset bills AWS on usage.

  • No lock-in on FAST and Standard

Pay-as-you-go, and a channel can launch within an hour through the self-service portal or AWS Marketplace.

Which clouds does Nimbus run on?

AWS by default, with dedicated Hetzner support. Other public clouds are possible on request. Nimbus has been tested on Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure, with no customers there yet.
