About MED.TV
Launched in 2024, MED.TV is a pan-Mediterranean television station based in Malta. It shows the culture, nature, traditions and way of life of the Mediterranean region: cultural events and festivals, travel, food, business, lifestyle, health and sports. Viewers watch the scheduled channel or stream its library on demand.
The challenge: many platforms, one operation
MED.TV distributes by satellite across Europe and MENA and through OTT on web, mobile and TV apps. To serve all of them and expand into other regions, it needed a playout that was flexible, simple to operate and ready to grow.
The solution: cloud playout for satellite and OTT
MED.TV chose Veset Nimbus for both satellite and OTT and runs its broadcast workflows entirely in the cloud.
- Graphics and teams. Schedule-driven on-air graphics, and several operators can work on the channel at the same time.
- Automated ingest. Assets come into the channel pipeline automatically, with metadata imported from custom XML sidecar files.
- EPG. Custom XMLTV exports deliver localised programme guides to distribution platforms and partners.
