TV Azteca’s adn40 network is a successful free-to-air television channel and streaming service with programming primarily focused on news and discussion, with additional sports, culture, entertainment and documentary content delivered to audiences across Mexico, the wider Latam region, and internationally. As the network continued to grow, TV Azteca identified the need to strengthen its operational resilience.
To protect the network from unexpected outages, on-premise equipment failures, or other broadcast-critical disruptions, the broadcaster required a robust disaster recovery (DR) solution. TV Azteca needed an approach that would minimise cost, complexity, and deployment time, while ensuring that the network remained on air under any circumstances.
TV Azteca selected Veset Nimbus to launch a cloud-based back-up channel, enabling the broadcaster to rapidly switch to an alternative playout environment in the event of an outage or disruption to its primary broadcast infrastructure. Delivered via the AWS Marketplace, by shifting the DR workflow to the cloud, TV Azteca removed the need to invest in new hardware, saving time, complexity and cost. Added to that, it is also benefitting from ongoing operational costs because as with most cloud services, Veset Nimbus works on a pay-per-use basis, so the broadcaster is only paying for services it’s actively using.
Aside from cost efficiency, as a cloud solution, Veset Nimbus also provides levels of scalability and flexibility that traditional on-premise infrastructure struggles to match. It enables TV Azteca to manage and monitor the DR channel from anywhere, ensuring resilience even if local facilities are compromised.
