Introducing the Veset Nimbus MCP Server

Today, we're announcing the first release of the Veset Nimbus MCP Server — a new integration that connects Claude, Anthropic's AI assistant, directly to the Nimbus playout platform using the Model Context Protocol (MCP).

What this means

Broadcast operations generate a constant stream of information: channel status, playout health, schedules, media assets, ingest logs, audit trails. Traditionally, getting a clear picture across all of it means jumping between dashboards, pulling reports, and cross-referencing logs by hand.

With the Nimbus MCP Server, that information is now a conversation away. Claude can connect directly to your Nimbus environment and:

  • Monitor live channels and playout health in real time
  • Query schedules, playlists, and media assets without digging through separate interfaces
  • Review ingest and audit logs to trace what happened and when
  • Edit playlists and adjust configuration with controlled, permissioned actions
  • Take events live on air when it's time to act

In short: from visibility to action, all through natural language.

Why we built this

Broadcast teams don't need more dashboards — they need faster answers and fewer steps between noticing a problem and resolving it. By connecting Claude to Nimbus via MCP, we're giving operators a way to ask direct questions about what's happening across their channels, and act on the answer immediately, without leaving the conversation.

This isn't about replacing operational judgment. Every action Claude can take runs through the same permissions, guardrails, and audit trail that Nimbus customers already rely on. The goal is to remove friction, not oversight.

What's in v1.0

This initial release focuses on the core of day-to-day playout management:

  • Real-time channel and playout health monitoring
  • Schedule, playlist, and media asset lookups
  • Ingest and audit log review
  • Playlist editing and configuration changes
  • Manual event-to-air control

What's next

This is the first step, not the finished picture. We're already exploring deeper automation, proactive alerting, and expanded configuration control for future releases. As MCP and the broader AI tooling ecosystem matures, we expect the scope of what teams can do through natural language to grow right along with it.
