Veset Brings JPEG XS and Multicast to Cloud Playout
Riga, Latvia, 22nd of April 2025: Cloud playout solutions provider, Veset has integrated JPEG XS and Multicast networking capabilities into Veset Nimbus, its advanced cloud-based playout solution, all available using AWS infrastructure and solutions.
Veset is one of the first cloud playout providers to offer customers JPEG XS and Multicast networking integration, enabling broadcasters to transmit high-quality video content with minimal delay and supporting live production workflows in the cloud. Multicast networking support will also allow customers to transmit their existing live video feeds easily to both Nimbus and multiple other third party products without complicated unicast solutions, which is particularly valuable for multi-channel operations, offering greater flexibility for content distribution.
Traditional hardware-based systems often involve significant investments and lack the agility to adapt to evolving demands. Increasingly broadcasters are being driven by the need for greater scalability, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness in their operations. By adopting cloud solutions, customers can efficiently manage resources, reduce infrastructure costs and rapidly deploy new services to meet the growing expectations of its audience.
“By integrating JPEG XS and Multicast networking into Veset Nimbus, broadcasters can benefit from the features of cloud playout with the same quality and reliability as traditional broadcast infrastructures,” said Gatis Gailis, CEO and Founder of Veset.
This shift to cloud-based playout enhances the ability for broadcasters to scale operations, optimise costs, and deliver high-quality, low-latency content across multiple platforms. With improved disaster recovery and advanced feed distribution capabilities over Multicast networking, Veset Nimbus will allow improved management and distribution of content to reach viewers via streaming platforms and apps.
